Re: Putting straps on legs only?

Yeah, the only store that carries any type of compresion pants in my area is D!ck's. They have Under Armor or the Nike brand. Both are expensive,$45. Try to find something online if you cant get any locally or want to spend that much on the name brand stuff, but I would glue the legs down to one of these, it'll look alot better and youll like it alot more.

I'll see what I can track down :)

Walmart has a knock-off called "starter...." I might be able to get the legs there... but it's in the men's clothes instead of sporting good...

I'll see what I can do...

edit: here's the thread of Brian's showing the legs.

Try Target & look for Champion Power Core compression leggings. I've used that on my last several suits and it worked great. It's just knock off UnderArmor, but it only costs about $20 a pair as opposed to $40-$50. If you can't find it in the mens' clothing section, check the womens'. They usually have it and it's exactly the same as the mens'. Just don't get confused and get the yoga tights - those probably won't fit tightly enough to support the weight of the armor. Make sure it's the Power Core microfiber compression stuff and you should be OK.

Did you forget about Eastbay?

http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/productdetail/module--productDetail/action--view/sku--16835102/model_nbr--76740/supercat--home/id--0/mvp--/

$24.99 plus s&h, so it will be about $35, but they have black in stock in all sizes right now and with the price of gas now, you easily use $10 in gas drving around town to find them, if you do find what yoou need.

Don't use nylon straps with quick release. I tried that and almost ruined my costume becuase it was too tight.

Use the widest elastic you can find.

Dude...

Artsee's tutorial, just like I said...

Also, you might try browsing the archives.

Good stuff there too.

Re: Putting straps on legs only?

Alright, I got the pants for $20 + tax.... not cheap, but they fit perfectly.... meant for biking...

Here's a quick shot that mom took:
Image

I don't have anything glued down, I just put the pants on and put the waist of the legs under the belt.

I'm going to hit these with Plastidip and thicken them with either a rubber mat or a giant sheet of foamies...

Now.. here's my problem.... The crotch of the armor.... when I have it so it fits realistically, the kneecaps don't line up with the corresponding areas on the legs...

In order for it to be comfortable, I'm either going to have to trim the legs, trim the kneepads, hike the legs up "old man" style," or just go without the kneepads....

opinions?

Another option would be to look for compression pants with this seller on eBay.
I got a couple of shirts at really good prices and posted here about them last year.

Mass Closeouts

just trim the bottom up, no big deal. Is there a reason you want to thicken up the chaps? With the legs you may want them a bit thineer for easier movement, like bending, sitting and what not.
