Re: TDK Mesh
whatever mesh we can find, there needs to be someone who can make a body suit out of it. Cause gluing small pieces to the back of each piece of armor seems like it would be long and complicated...am I right on this?
...surely someone here knows a seamstress that could help us out?

Re: TDK Mesh
ya I think what I found is a bit more accurate. and yes its very flexible, as long as you get the pattern right, meaning enlarging the pattern where there is elbows and knees. It would also take awhile to cut up more then two hundred car seat covers to make a bodysuit...

your absolutely right. i would assume that there has to be a flat black somewhere.
if we could find that, then we're on to something

Re: TDK Mesh
I found a black shelf liner material (like to place down to put dishes on top or something) at walmart. It was long enough that it goes up the length of my body in one piece and was only like 5 bucks. I think it looks good I'll have pics after tonight

Re: TDK Mesh
I would say that the Collins gate material is the most accurate. Thats what i used for my suit, and after seeing the movie i think its very accurate. the only problem is that its surprisingly stiff. Its a little hard to bend down in it sometimes

Re: TDK Mesh
yay, I helped someone! But like I said you need to make he elbows and knees in the pattern bigger to allow you to be able to move better. Glad I could be of service :)

Re: TDK Mesh
I haven'thad trouble with the elbows or knees, and it seems that the trade off for making them bigger would mean that when you're standing relaxed they come up off your body, kind of baggy. That might not look right. I found the mesh material at my fabric store. It was actually kind of an accident.

Re: TDK Mesh
I've been digging and digging and the funny thing is that mesh is the best thing I came up with also before I read your post. Also after looking at the costume I can completely see the chainmail idea. I also do ren faire's. I've been looking and only found cheap knight costumes that use a fabric chainmail. Does anyone have a link or know of the material by any other name???
I have a source lined up who can make the sew the undersuit of mesh and lycra and interface the two, I just need the mesh. She can also make the hoodie/dickie thing that goes from the neck over the head. Does anyone have any ideas on the mesh?
