Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
Its one of two things - either a neoprene/poly mesh that the pattern is woven into, or is an elastic weft with an underarmour undersuit is what I heard way back when... if you look at the Toys R Us photos - you can actually see the forms "white" coming through.
Otherwise, youll have to find someone to make it for you, ie, Universal Designs/DavidYr1 or some kind of produtction house. There is a supplier in the UK who also has it...
and its not that its doubled up - its a deep weave - Mueller has an elbow brace with the same exact pattern/material

No...No and No. I get enough emails and phone calls for costume stuff like this every single day and I really dont need any more.

David, you have wonderful timing. Did your "costume request" alarm go off?

Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
I still think this mesh idea is a bit overkill. No offense for someone wanting to go "perfect"...but I saw TDK for the third time tonight, and if we never saw these close up pictures then it would have been really hard to tell it was even there. I say focus on the armor, cape, cowl, gauntlets and gloves first before running around trying to find a fabric that may or may not work. These suits are hard enough to put together with out worrying how you are going to secure mesh to a suit then armor on top of it. Doesnt sound like fun to me at all.

Not striving for accuracy gets us glorified Rubies costumes. As far as I'm concerned, the mesh and segmented armor plates make this suit, and skimping out on either of these really lessens the impact.

Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
Everybody goes for a different level of accuracy. No direction is right or wrong. If some brothers want to go to hell and back to get an accurate undersuit, what is wrong with that? Not everybody has to do the same.

Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
Hey I personally don't care what people do to create their vision.
I used to be the same way...but then I realized i was trying to be super accurate pretty much for this board only. Noone last halloween cared that my cape wasnt correct, or the boots were not even close.
I just kinda made the mistake of spending alot to get very little out of it. Sorry to be honest...But if your goal is to go visit kids in the hospital dressed as the bat (as mine is)...they are not going to care how accurate it is. I have just seen a ton of posts about where to find this mesh at, when they don't even have armor or a cowl yet.
The unfortunate part of this hobby for the majority of us is...our suits will never actually be accurate until they are done out of foam latex anyway. I just would rather see some brothers get a fairly accurate suit together to enjoy this halloween, which I suspect the majority will do, and put the mass produced costumes to shame (which everyone else will be wearing lol).

Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
Oh...I actually do hope to see a completed TDK suit being done accuratly. Sorry I didnt mean to make it seem as if I don't. I just hope you guys get it together fairly quick. I am redoing my Begins again and praying I have it done by Halloween. I just know how difficult it can be just to get a suit together and I was really trying to offer advice to not sweat the small details until you actually have the time to do it. I guess I don't. My life is fairly busy. I have been sitting on guanos belt kit for months now (still in the box) and I have the proper material now to do the cape but no sewing machine. Everytime it seems like I am off my days are filled with other stuff. But I will kick myself in three months if I don't take the time to get it done.

Re: Possible TDK Undersuit fabric lead?
Did a bit of quick research based on the biker jacket posted above and Archytextural is correct this is the fabric used for the suit. Based on the suit interview posted on the board a few weeks ago the material used is similar to what bmx riders use to keep them cool, the fabric that the biker jacket is made of allows for your body to ventilate. I dug deeper and found a better pic from the same jacket manufacture and when compared to the actual suit you will see it in fact is that same fabric.
Now for some names the fabric in the above picture is being called 1000 denier cordura mesh. I can only find the fabric with this name that is not a mesh. Maybe some bros with better search skills will find one. Im thinking of also e-mailing the jacket makers to see if the will tell me a source for the material.
