Adding zipper to Rubies The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask
Hey Everyone,
My question: I recently bought a rubies Dark Knight Batman cowl (Item #4507). Overall, I am happy with the cowl itself, but I want to do some work to it. First, I want to try and get rid of some the signs of "mistreatment" while it was being held at the store. I have noticed that parts of the molding have become flattened and some of the cowl's face is slightly distorted (looks like it needs to be pulled tighter to be straightened).
Is there something that I can do that will fix the cowl? Also, any recommendations for storing while I am in the process of locating a mannequin head? Any other advice of recommendations?
I've heard some bad stuff about rubies products but please keep the slamming to a minimum since this is my first cowl and will be my first suit that I put together.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
Hey dude welcome to BOTB
to fix wrinkles I have heard that some have put their cowl in a pillow case and then stuck it in a dryer for a short time to soften it back up.
Once you have got it soft you can then stuff the cowl with news paper or shopping bags and then sit it on a plastic bottle as a stand.
The plastic or paper will help the cowl hold it's shape while the bottle holds it up.
Hope that helps. As for how long to stick it in the dryer I am not sure. You will have to aske some one who kept the rubies cowl long enough :lol I got rid of mine shortly after getting it. :up

Jedicoral is right about the dryer trick.
After thats done, you can also grab one of those plastic Dark knight face masks and glue it to the inside of the cowl. This will help give it a more solid and rigid look.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
Thanks Everyone,
If anyone knows the exact time it should be put in the dryer (along with a heating setting) that would be great.
What mask are you referring to shadow?

As you can see, the right side of the cowl looks great; the left sides cheek is less defined and there is also a slight divet.
I forgot to take a pic of the back, but basically it closes using velcro. Its flaps hide the opening very well.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
Its usually sold with the toys. Its a hard plastic face mask with an elastic strap. Theres a child size and an adult size.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
Spideyboone: Yes, but only because you asked so nicely! lol
ILLJUAN: I think the "problematic left cheek" is only noticeable when the cowl is being worn. Looking at it while it is worn, the right cheek looks nicer and fuller than the left.
Shadowbat: I'll take a look around for this plastic mask.
