Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
I have that exact same cowl, and this might be a little off topic, but too improve it, remove the velcro from the back and add an "invisible zipper" as seen here. It took me a really short time to do it, but it's totally worth it :-P

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
ILLJuan: No, once its on my face it seems to straighten out.
Shadow: Thanks, I think I've seen those before but I wasn't sure those were the ones you were talking about (those plastic ones end at the cheek and are missing a "chin"). Those are the same masks that are show with the Batman megacape toy lol.
Mikey: That looks amazing...tell me how!!!! lol Did installing a zipper give the cowl a tighter fit?

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
When I used to wear it around sometimes I would just feel the velcro come loose, and it was always a pain having to just kinda guess that the velcro and mask lined up in the back, so I added a zipper to get rid of all these problems.
First cut the velcro off.
If you go to Joann Fabric's they have an entire zipper section. Grab an appropriate size, and just line the cowl up and start sowing :-P.
Now did it make it tighter? No, but it made it more secure in my opinion.
The only time I have noticed it has ever fit the best is when I let my hair grow out like to like 3 inches. I have curly hair, so it's like adding foam in there lol nice snug fit, but then I have to have an afro...I should start a thread about that lol
AFRO = BETTER FITTING COWL!!! lol

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
I had the same cowl and it was, luckily, not in that bad of shape when I bought it. The part of the cowl in the back at the top of the velcro was just a little ripped from other people trying it on so I got a piece of electrical tape and put it over the rip. It did the trick for the short time that I wore the cowl. Also when I plasti dipped it it kind of blended in.
I also had the same problem of not having something for it to sit on so it would fold like yours is doing in the picture.
These guys on here are great and very talented and within thise thread alone have provided some helpful hints!

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
I concur: this has been very helpful! Thank you everyone.
Mikey: When you say "cut the velcro off" do you mean rip the stitching out that holds the velcro pieces in place? Or did you literally take scissors and cut the velcro right out of the cowl (your picture looks like you did the former but I just wanted to make sure).

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
just use some seam rippers to pop the thread and just slowly pull it out.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
I have one that I mod. reshaped the neck and well I did not have to worry about the velcro because The 1st time I unhooked it it tore off.
THe zipper is a great Idea. I used a different velcro strap, when it wears out I will add the zipper.

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
Sounds good! I'm gonna wait to do all of this (zipper and plastic mask) until after I get a mannequin head and after I have put the cowl in the clothes dryer.
By chance did anyone find out how long and at what setting the cowl should be dried on/for? (I have checked around the boards but can't find the info).

Re: Questions about Rubies "The Dark Knight Batman Adult Full Mask"
I just took an exact-o knife, and just cut the thread out so there was no velcro, no thread, no nothing but mask lol
