Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
GermanBat,
Thanks for your kind words Guido and I really appreciate that!! :hug
The effort I have put into making this Bat Heater is more than any other projects I have ever done before, I am very glad to know that you like the results of it. :lol
Also Thank You very much for your help on my Panther Rang project, I'll be shipping you back your Panther Rang this coming Monday.
The resin functional Panther Rang prototype is already in the works, hopefully I will be able to post pics of it very soon, hope you will like it. :up
I definately will be doing the 89 Batarang, but I want to go back and do some functional Buckles after the Panther Rang project (like the Sonar or the Clooney Buckle) to satisfy some Bros costuming needs. After that, sure the 89 Batarang will be coming next. :wink
Cheers my friend!!
Henry :cheers

Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
henry i just want to say that these are super cool, ace, aweseome, and simply outstanding.
i love these. i loved the test shots you first shown but this has completely convinced me of their awesome-ness.
i am jealous of anyone who has any spare benjamins lying around.
good luck on getting the final products finished.

Great work as usual Henry, i dont think its possible for you to not excel with what you make.
When you do an 89 rang, why two sided? The real screen used foldable 89 rang was only one sided. I thought you were always an accuracy nut :wink

BelmontBat,
Thanks for your kind words Bro!! I'm glad to know that I have did a good job in making this Bat Heater!! :lol
Martynross,
Thanks for your kind words Bro!! And I really appreciate that!!
Mykbyk95,
Thanks for your kind words too Mike!!
I admit I am a accuracy nut.:lol But for the 89 Rang, I think it will looks more cool if it is double sided. Also I don't think I will use the elastic strings method for opening of the rang like the screen used one did. Most likely I will design a folding mechanism for it to makes it more like a real gadget that Batman would use in the real world. :wink This is how I am plannig to do mine but I am always open for input and suggestions, if most Bros think a single sided one is better, than I will go that way. :up
Cheers Bros!!
Henry :cheers

Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
I'm far from being the '89 expert here, but I guess that if the rang is one sided, it will fold completely, where as two sided won't be able to fold fully. So I'd go for one sided.

Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
How about this?: As there are two versions in the 89 Batman movie
(foldable and one piece) I think that a one piece, full metal, two sided rang,
and a foldable one sided metal rang would be my choice.
As there is already a full metal one sided on Ebay,
as well as recasts of the one piece/one sided in resin.

Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
Well the reason the foldable 89 rang was one sided was so it could fold up neatly and compact. Im trying to imagine how a two sided 89 rang would fold up :huh My vote is for screen accuracy and to go one sided for a foldable 89 rang, but whatever you choose i'll still stand behind you :)

Re: MY METAL BAT HEATER TEST SHOT PICS (WITH LIGHTING EFFECTS)!!
It depends on what 89 rang you want.
There's 2 rangs used,possibly 3,for filming.
This is all in the span of a few seconds of screen time, and then you never see it again.
One is definitely double sided, and the other is definitely single sided.
The folding rang is the double sided one.
The single sided rang may also have been done in foam,so possibly two versions of the same rang.
The single sided rang is solid, and does not fold.
It goes like this.
The opening rang is double sided and can clearly be seen in both the film itself, and also more clearly in the 'making of' disc when Evans is playing around with it.
The only shot it's used is when the arm is shown from the elbow up in the frame, then flipping it open. Then it cuts.
That's the end of that rang. It's probably not even Keaton's arm in the shot, and he may never even have held it for a single frame in the movie. Speculation.
Cut to a full body shot of Keaton. Now he's holding a single sided, solid version, which he throws. This was probably molded from the original folding prop for an exact duplicate, but just one side and solid.
This one may have been slightly weighted foam for safety because it was used for throwing. Common practice for many props, including guns, bats, rocks, etc.
Cut to the rang wrapped around the guy's leg. Clearly single sided and solid, and it can be seen in the light. No doubt a resin copy.
So definitely 2,possibly 3.
I've experimented with both single, and double sided folding rangs, and the double sided is the way to go for folding for several reasons, most notably accuracy.
Also,there are no accurate replicas.
