well here is a newer pic of everything. the bolt details are on the rings now and it is painted. now all i need to do it mount the bolts in the holes of the hand piece...

No padding, the fiberglass MLCs hold up pretty well. They may need a touchup once in a while, may add a thin foam strip to the mounting rings sometime. Looks amazing, Des.

thanks guys. i have really put some time into this project. we need to get some shots of it on the suit darthmaddy.. that will be the next pics i take of it..
as for the padding you can adjust this piece to fit padding but the set screws i have installed keep it pretty well in place. it doesnt damage the gauntlet at all. the wrist right is around 3.500 ID. and the forearm ring is about 4.625 ID so there is a difference also you can adjust the fore arm ring since it is cut in 1/2 and bolted together you can get longer screws.

Based on the details I was given it's just too prohibitive to get one. It's a VERY nice item. I would love to have one, but as I said, it's just not economical to get one.
A resin one I would be down for. I hope that there are others who can commit to one, but I sure couldn't at this point in time.
