Re: Custom Batman cowl (Finished Sculpture)
Absolutely beautiful! I LOVE it! If it looked impressive in clay form, it is incredible in latex or Urethane? And Tommy Lee makes a pretty cool looking older Batman! Great stuff, man!

Cool cowl, I wish there was a trick to make your eyes white like that.

Yeah alcohol wont smooth oil base clay or make it mushy it has to be much more harsh like naphtha or Turpenoid. And finishing tools can be cheap if you make your own worth the time you invest to make them.

Ive found a really great web page with a how to make a rake section. Id love to do it but I have no way to sharpen the metal edge or Id have made a whole set I think lol Ill find a way.
Very nice first casting too! Looks nice and smooth, excellent!

Dude, you just gotta get some jig saw blades and jeweler saw blades and bend them over a lighter and then put them in a brass tube with some super glue, instant rakes in any size. Do it with some large bass guitar string and you get a really great tool for smoothing as well.

That is a truly beautiful cowl. I really like the simple clean lines. If you ever make version of it for smaller (~22.5-23") heads, I will be the first in line. :up :up
