Re: WIP Long-eared Justice League Unlimited cowl

well when u say it like that, it changes it up a bit.

The sculpt is really good bro, really smooth. Im just more into sticking straight to the cartoon more.

When i said fltter nose i meant you dont see the bridge of the nose as much by making it stick out further. Youll see on my anaimated stuff when im done. -Bryan

Really, really freaking cool! I am always a bit skeptical about some of these comic/ cartoon representations, but the fine folks here at the BOTB WOW me every time... Very, VERY cool... I dig the JLA Batman because of the Black Bat on his chest. When talks first erupted about Begins not having the yellow oval I was skeptical, but once again, I was completely onboard when I saw the suit... FANTASTIC sculpt... I like the idea of a blue highlight when the light hits it. Some of the punk kids hair looks like that... Like so black it's almost blue. If you could achieve that in Urethan then you will have done something fantastic... Can't wait to see the rest of the suit!

I'm actually a painter by trade, so i know a ton about color mixing and color effects. The "so black it's blue" effect in certain hair dyes is because some black dyes actually use a chemical that goes navy blue before it goes black, i call them "blue-based blacks" because i don't remember the real name. With a blue sheen on a cowl, i'm thinking if i mixed in one or two drops blue into about 5 drops of black i would get the same effect by thinning put the urethane for a very thin coat of the blueish, then the rest in black. I'm interested in filling the ears with polyfoam, but i was also thinking about making silicone "plugs" for the ears to make thick, hollow ears so that an armature could be put in them to bend and/or sturdy them so that they don't get that dreded "ear-bounce" thing. This is all just a work in progress, but i poured the silicone and that mold is all set, now i've got the mothermold setting so pretty soon it's on to the resin. i'll keep everyone posted.
