Re: Neon's First Cowl Sculpt: Update on Page 9!
This is a great sculpt to make a fully articulate segmented cowl with!
It would have to attach to an under hood but would be the most breathable and flexible cowl ever produced!
Nice work! :up

Re: Neon's First Cowl Sculpt: Update on Page 9!
Thanks, everyone.
Part of the mold cracked during demolding, so I'm busy repairing that while also sanding the inside to a smooth finish. Hopefully I'll have it finished by Wednesday.

Re: Neon's First Cowl Sculpt: Update on Page 9!
That looks pretty great. New cowl designs are the best. I mean not just anyone can replicate a movie cowl, or even a comic cowl, and those guys do amazing work, but creating something new is awesome in its own regard. I like abiwan's idea of segmenting it and attaching it to a hood. I guess the angular "seams" are the only thing that sell that idea to this cowl over any other one.
Best of luck with the pull. Looking forward to more pics!

Re: Neon's First Cowl Sculpt: Update on Page 9!
Still working on the mold, but it's turning out just fine. Actually, the mold breaking helped me out; I can eliminate the seam between the front and back halves, so no flashing!
As far as segmenting the cowl, the idea was to create the appearance of a multi-piece cowl, with the option of actually doing it. And as a note to everyone, I made the neck's circumference somewhat small, to get rid of the "face on a thumb" look a lot of cowls have (No offense! Even the movie cowls, TDK and '66 excluded, have this look) and sculpted a deep groove along the spine to accommodate the installation of a zipper or velcro flap without harming the aesthetics.
Thanks for the feedback, I hope to be wearing my first pull by the end of the weekend!
