New Bat Cowl Sculpt! with Pics!

So I'm not sure what to name this sculpt yet. I think it's kind of demonic looking, at least that's what I'm going for. I'm using the Hong Kong cowl for inspiration. Let me know what you guys think and how I can improve upon it.

I agree with the whole demonic thing, I like it.

It looks a bit like Long Hallowen cowl as well though.

That looks pretty cool, bro. The only problem I see is some of the symetry, but as you are not done, I figured you knew already. That is a very imposing Bat cowl, scary looking. What are you going to cast it out of?

yeah I definitely got to work on the symmetry. I'm hoping to cast it in urethane but I may have to resort to latex if my funds only allow for a plaster mold.

Because it's an organic sculpt, I wouldn't worry TOO MUCH about the symmetry, as long as it's close enough to not look off. However, the under the jaw "strap" and jawbone as well as the cheekbone area stick out a lot so that the entire cowl looks kind of round. I'd suggest pushing the cheeks a little back, so the stick out less sideway, as well as shaving the jaw strap and jaw bone down. I LOVE the ears and nose. Is this going to be a "neck turning" cowl? or are you building the cowling later on once you get the mask part done?

Its a pretty good looking sculpt, but I think it looks a bit too bird like and not bat like. Especially with that beaked nose.

Well I don't think it's THAT bad dude lol. Perhaps a bit bird like, but I am happy with how it looks. I may slim the nose down a bit but I want to keep the angle and shape as is. I agree with pushing the cheek bones back. This is going to be a neck turn cowl, but I may sculpt a separate neck piece to go with it. I haven't decided yet.

If you picture it without the ears it looks a little like an evil jack o lantern. IMO the mouth opening makes it look like it's smiling. Pretty awesome sculpt though.

Personally, I don't care much for it...

That's the problem with some of the new casts - they get WAY off track. So much so that they take away from the beauty of the original idea and concept.

That's not constructive criticism nor is it in any way specific. The language is confusing and i don't think you know what you're talking about.
First off it's a sculpt, not a mold or a cast-
and even if there WAS an original idea or concept beyond dark-colored mask with triangular ears that comes down to the collarbone, (i.e. are we talking original batman circa a long time ago, golden age, silver, bronze, modern, movies, etc.) the whole idea is to take the idea of batman and run with it. Not only that- but this design is identical to the PUBLISHED DRAWINGS of good ol' batsie in the hong kong issues.

So i must reiterate.
be more specific plz.
