the first rubber cowl is curing in teh mould right now, should be ready to pull in a couple of hours, fingers crossed is comes out ok, if so, ill load pics later

I'm trying to understand what they added to the inside of Bales Cowls to fit him just right He really doesn't have a big head or jaw.
Yeah I know they took a life cast of his whole body and then sculpted everything off of that.

your right, he doesnt have much of a jaw.
basically they sculpted on this lifecast, made a mould, then removed the clay and put his lifecast back in the mould. now there is a cavity where the clay was. This is then injected with foam latex so that the outside looks like the cowl and the inside is a negative of bales head so it will fit him pefectly.
theres a few more steps than that but hopefully that gives you the gist.
I pulled the cowl last night and unfortunatly there are a few airbubbles in teh surface so its scrap. im have just enough rubber to try again so wish me luck
