lycra suit for 89' suit
I'm scrambling around to get my suit together for halloween. i searched ebay and there were some cheap lycra black metallic catsuits which i think are the right ones to get. but they're shipping from china which will take a while.
is ebay the right place to look? do the suits have zippers in the back?

Re: lycra suit for 89' suit
Hey bro, I know which suits you are talking about and they do zip up the back. Im not sure if they are strong enough to mount armor to though. I think most bros. use wetsuits to mount armor on as plain lycra tends to sag from the wieght of said armor.

Re: lycra suit for 89' suit
My armor came mounted to Lycra. Didn't sag when I was trying it on, didn't look like it had. I've demounted it to work on it, which went fine fabrics pretty tough. I would think a wetsuit would be way to hot to wear for any length of time after you have the armor, cape, cowl, glows and boots on is going to be hot!! :beatup

Re: lycra suit for 89' suit
I have the Panther Armor. Here is what I got off the bay. I've taken it all off and took about 1.5" out of the lycra (I'm only 5 11") stripped it filled sanded it and re plastidipped it. I'll be mounting it up tomorrow, using the high stength contact cement as per the
Archives you should take a peek at a bunch of the sections. There is a ton of info in there just waiting to be read.

Re: lycra suit for 89' suit
most of us use Under Armor or some type of knockoff brand. Ive done this for 5 years, never had a problem with the armor sagging.

Re: lycra suit for 89' suit
For accuracy purposes, lycra is the way to go for an 89. To avoid any sagging or bunching,as well as locking everything together,a cape harness is used.
All the Batman and Robin suits in all the movies used cape harnesses.
The Returns suit was done the same way as the 89,but a one piece slick skin neoprene jumpsuit was used,as opposed to lycra.
The next two films used two piece neoprene undersuits for both Batman's suits and Robin's suits.
Then of course, the same theory was applied to Begins and TDK.
Anyway,hope that helps.
