DC Comic Question -ROGUE BATMAN

Hey guys,

I have been reading graphic novels mostly batman.. I have been trying to branch out into learning about other characters.. The first character i wanted to learn about is the green lantern.

So far i have only read a little bit about the orgins of the character. I tried to read the "blackest night" comics and im beyond lost...

Can anyone suggest what i could read to get caught up?

Blackcanary.

Re: DC Comic Question -GREEN LANTERN

Hey there, I would skip blackest night right now as it covers way too much ground. Ive collected comics since I was 13 (Im NOW 30) And I cant keep up with it at all. As far as green lantern, It depends on wich one. There are actually a lot of different lanterns, the main ones bein Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner(my favorite), and Guy Gardner(my buddys favorite). Ive never gotten THAT into the lantern comics though. I would go onto evil-bay and just look for some older green lantern stuff. From early nineties and earlier, the stories were more simple back then and easier to follow as you didnt have to read a hundred different books to follow one story.

Re: DC Comic Question -GREEN LANTERN

Thanks AOD
I was aware that there were at least 2 green lanterns (I thought hal jordan was the most recent) I know the blackest night set is too far into the new stuff cause it is all about the green lantern corp... What i dont know is how to get informed about the new stuff cause now it seems really complicated especially with all the different coloured lanterns (which i have no clue how they came around)

But thanks for your input

Blackcanary.

Start with the newer version of Secret Origin. If you're into older stuff, Emerald Dawn is also a good place to start. Mark Waid's Brave and the Bold TPB is pretty good, it is a nice condensed history of the relationship between the Flash and GL over the years.

Re: DC Comic Question -GREEN LANTERN

Ok guys,

New question....

I was reading "under the hood" and then I got reading "gotham city sirens" (its a graphic novel of the first 7 comics of a ongoing set) In the begining of the GCS catwoman talks about getting injuried by the rogue batman... I can only assume this batman Red Hood or Jason todd because of his violent approach.

My question:
I havent read about a rogue batman, Is there anything that explains how this happens or is it a thought just created by GCS?

Re: DC Comic Question -ROGUE BATMAN

I dont know about recently (they may be talking about the recent "battle for the cowl" storyline that had a few different "batmen") but usually when I hear "rogue batman" I think of Jean paul valley as batman from the "knightfall" storyline. It was back in the 90s, bane broke bruce waynes back and so jean paul (azreal) took over as batman for a while at the end of "knightfall" and during "Knightquest". He actually became a muderer while he was batman, so bruce came back to reclaim the mantle during "knightsend". lotta detail there but its one of my favorite stories as it was what got me collecting comics. Hope it helps.
