Issues with a comic prop website

Hi guys
I'm posting here basically to ask for a little help. I'm wondering if anyone here knows the guys behind www.comic-props.com

I have a bit of an issue in that I ordered an item from there, sent them the required money and shipping fees to the UK for a sidekick style belt. This took place almost three months ago (16th April). I've sent a few e-mails but I've just had no response. I'm not needing the belt urgently but I would just like to get confirmation that they received payment and things will eventually be sorted out.

I'm asking here because I'm hoping some of you have either received goods from there or even better, know the people who work there. And if not, do you think I should look into getting some sort of refund? Everything was done through Paypal. I don't want to get to that step if it's just taking time, but I'm just a little frustrated and concerned with the lack of communication.

So I'm pleading for help from anyone.

Thanks

P.S. Apologies if this has been brought up before but I couldn't find anything in the search of the forums I did.

He WILL get you your stuff. It's "Con Season" and he just gets bogged down. His name is Max if that helps. Don't think I'm trying to totally defend him or anything, I'm currently waiting on my semi-custom sidekick belt as well.
I have gotten stuff from Max before, and he'll get you your stuff soon I'm sure. :up

Max is a really good guy and makes really good stuff, but he's kinda slow on the shipment and doesn't respond to e-mails well. Get his phone number from Lewis (lrcrow) and you should have no issues getting him.

Hi guys.

Thanks for all the responses, and I really do feel much better now. I'm from the UK and so I don't fancy racking up an expensive international phone charge. I trust you guys which is why I brought it up here before I did anything.

As I said, I don't mind being patient and waiting. I was just getting nervous with the lack of e-mail response. I just feel so much better now that you guys have explained the situation.

Thanks again!

If you don't want to call him, definitely keep sending him e-mails and personal messages. He's also a member over at the LOH so you can try to contact him there.

"Kinda slow." That's putting it mildly. He *is* nice and does good work, but....

I ordered a custom item from him last summer ('09). Still don't have it. Lots of promises and deadlines come & gone. The worst part: he says he took it to a con recently, and he thinks someone stole it. :banghead

That has to be the dumbest decision this side of BP. :cussing

Hahah, I think that goes to James Cameron for deciding to make that awful Avatar movie.

But best of luck man!! I ordered something from a bro last year and got it two months ago!!

I would go with what others have already said and continue to contact him directly since BOTB doesn't mediate trade disputes.

I would also add not to let your 45 day PayPal window expire.

Hope you get your item.
