I'm New Here, wanted some info about Begins & TDK suits.
hello there
i was wondering if someone can help. ive been looking through the threads, but im not finding the info i seek. i was wondering can someone give me an idea of people that are producing really nice Begins and TDK suits? I know Universal Designs has their AMAZING motorcycle suits, but i missed the sale for TDK as everyone probably knows they are sold out. Will they be selling them again? I know the Begins suit is coming soon, and im going to try for it. But i wasnt sure if theres a waiting list?
But are there other artists that are creating the Begins or TDK suits? i saw someone reference Jeff (Infrno), but i didnt know how to find this person. i saw some photos of his Begins suit and it looked amazing. i was wondering what the cost of his would be?
any help i would really appreciate. i understand im sure these questions come up a lot...but with thousands of threads, its just hard to go through ever single one.

If you use the search function, you'll quickly get an idea of who is producing cowls or costume parts. as for selling and buying, it can't be mentionned here, its part of the rules of the board which I invite you to read. After posting I forget how many times, you'll be allowed to enter the trading forum...and even there you can't use the words buy or sell, except for licensed goods.

I can tell you a few things without getting Commissioner Gordon's fur in a dander. About the David's UD kit (he's retail and licensed and has a 187 page thread here) - I'd be surprised if the TDK leathers will be offered again, at least anytime soon. UD has a ton on their plate as it is and a few more things already hinted about in the pipeline. Considering the lead and production time it would be a good while before cycling back to TDK. By that time Batman 3 will be out and probably with a revised suit and that will the the Next Big Thing Batman-wise. Plus, UD's TDK gear was advertised as a limited run.
UD's Begins kit is about to be released for orders - "about" being very soon, not next year. The only "wait list" is if you're slow to get the order in and the # to be produced is limited. The TDK was limited to 1000 units (with a short "encore" window in early May) but I haven't seen the same with the Iron Man gear (unless I slept on it and missed seeing that). So maybe there won't be a limited run on the Begins full leathers, just an ordering deadline. Save your scratch in the meantime. Plus, so far, UD has offered the 3 payment PayPal plan so that helps if it holds true with future full leather set orders. 
I'd say look at David's licensed website and see what the deal is with the Iron Man kit. If there's no limit or short "get it in now" deadline yet on ordering then maybe this is the way it will be on the following stuff. You can always email or call David also. Email can be sketchy if they're slammed with getting something out the door or a convention but he's real good about calls if you get him.
Being new here (at least posting wise) you could learn a lot about David's reputation and "style" by reading up on the couple of threads about his stuff. Plus, there are tons of other Brothers here who put out serious craftsmanship and have excellent threads about their work. I've been amazed at the level of effort and capabilities of some of these guys. And not just costumes but accessories and Tumblers (real world ones!) and true BatCave home theaters and good stuff.
BOTB is a big cave, Bro. Wandering through it is like having direct access to Morgan Freeman and the basement of Wayne Industries. :batman

thank you for the info. i removed the words "selling".
yes ive been following UD for a while now. Their work is amazing. I just missed out on TDK. so im definitely looking forward to Begins and hope i dont miss out. i follow them on their site & FB usually everyday to catch their updates. Those who got TDK suit seem to just rave about the quality and craftsmanship. Saw some YouTube vids as well.
thanks for all that extra info about them as well.

There is a lot more to this hobby, and if you are into costuming or creating a display piece, there are pieces available that look a lot more like the movie suits.... no zipper right up the front of the torso for example. After all, these UD suits are meant for being used as a motorcycle suit. Try looking up HellsKitchen for example, or take a look around for another forum, there are at least a half dozen, lots to look around at.

Morphosis, welcome to the board. You've been given some decent advice from several people. Just remember that like Jeff said, there are many options out there. At this point in the hobby anyone can find a ton of ways to put together just about any type of suit they have in mind. Spend some time looking around and getting to know some people. You'll find what's interesting and right for you.

Done, I was going for more of a toast as opposed to an actual open flame this morning brother.... hung-over, up early, and no caffeine.... was feeling miserable and no tolerance for phony baloney. After a jug of coffee, a hug from the wife and baby, and a high five from David, I feel much better, thx.
