Gluing down my armor-

The time is almost upon us when I need to attach my urethane armor to a triathlete wetsuit very close to this one..I was going to use urebond III but I've had no luck finding it.. so 2nd choice is Bondini and I wanna make sure this is the correct type to use?-
Bondini... and a guesstimate on how many tubes it'll take to do an entre 89 suit?
Thank you brothers!

DAP works great. Go to Home Depot and buy the can. Rupidupe lives near you. I'm down in Kenosha.

When you use DAP, if wearing the suit make sure to saran wrap yourself and add a layer because it gets HOT! Always outline where you're gluing your armor first. And apply the DAP leaving an inch clear from the border. Touch it up with super glue carefully and you'll be perfect. Too bad you weren't closer or I'd help ya out!

This the stuff you're talking about HERE?

If you've done this before It'd be worth the hour drive to your place for me, before I try gluing together a $1000 worth of stuff myself :confused

Goodluck, be careful...i've been told the top layer of the triathlon suit will easily rip off after mounting the armor. and those suits aren't cheap!

Yup that's the stuff. And he's right about the suits. The first layer is pressed on to the neoprene. You have to line it up, use chalk to trace an out line and just slowly and carefully begin to clue. I can try and walk ya through it over the phone. Its not easy at all but doable. You need at least another set of hands if not two just to be safe.

I've heard that DAP doesn't hold to urethane. This is not from personal experience, but I have read this many times on this board. I've had great results with DAP and latex however... Before you start, you may want to do some reading in this BOTB archive:

Dap doesn't work with urethane. It won't bond. Best bet is superglue or urebond from smooth on.

Oops my bad. Didn't know it was urethane. I've done it with latex with great results. I do use fabric glue for my cowl liners which are urethane and that seems to work well. I don't think it would do the trick though for armor and undersuits.

Since urebond 3 is nowhere to be found, try urebond 2 instead. Do not use superglue on that wetsuit. You will melt the any area super glue touches on that thing and it will become brittle and eventually come apart.

Urebond is your best bet when using a wetsuit and urethane. Superglue also tends to crack inside the urethane, causing the urethane to become easier to break/tear after several uses.
Beware the superglue!

Thank guys!
I've sent an email to Smooth-on asking if urebond 3 is available anymore, if not I'll pick up the #2 instead.
And again if any of you WI bats wouldn't mind giving me a hand I would definitely appreciate it!
