Re: Gluing down my armor-
I will give some advice about the wetsuit...
If it is a triathlon wetsuit it will be very difficult to take this suit on and off. I used one for my Begins suit a couple of years ago and I went through two different tri suits before I figured out that it wouldnt work. What happened was once it was glued down it looked great. As soon as I went to pull the suit on the armor ripped from the suit because of the fragile nature of neoprene when it is thick. Just a warning.

So what would you recommend I use?

Re: Gluing down my armor-
Good luck mounting the armor!
I am close to mounting a urethane chest to neoprene myself
hmmm, wonder where that chest piece came from.... probably from a very helpful brother on the board, possibly in this thread
Sounds like a lot of little superglue tubes may be the way to go
(superglue gel, of course)
Anybody have an opinion on latexing the neoprene before mounting a urethane piece? Would DAP still be a bad option?

Re: Gluing down my armor-
Undersuit...
Keith still has one of the best. Jeffs hybrid with better ventilation is also a great way of going.
For my next undersuit I am getting the Bodyglove dive skin which is less than a mm thick.
I will either sew neoprene in the exposed areas or latex the areas in very thin latex.
When I make my own Robin that is probably what I will do. And again use urebond to glue it down.

Re: Gluing down my armor-
Thank you for all the impute guys!
So I emailed smooth-on about urebond 3 and this is the response I received-
"Hi Matthew,
Thank you for calling Smooth-On with your information request. Ure-Bond 3 was the next generation to Ure-Bond 2. Our customers feedback indicated that Ure-Bond 2 was, in fact, preferred. For approximately 2 years we have been manufacturing Ure-Bond 2 once again. Click THIS LINK for the Technical Bulletin.
What can often help with adhesion is proper surface preparation. Some materials are easier to adhere than others while others (depending on the stress that is applied to the bond or the material surface itself) don’t adhere very well at all. You can read more about both topics via THIS LINK.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Have a great weekend!"

Re: Gluing down my armor-
Alright, I don't have time to read everyone elses responses to see who might or might not have given you good answers but I'll give you mine. First off Urebond you have to get from Smooth-on, go to www.smooth-on.com
I don't know though how long it takes to set so you need to ask them.
Secondly, Bondini is pretty much only available from ebay nowadays (according to email correspondence I had with the manufacturer)It however is the same as pretty much all superglues. Try loctite superglue gel, you can get that pretty much anywhere and works like a champ. Only problem with the superglues is that they are basically rigid. They hold urethane great but you'll hear it crack alot in the beginning. I don't think however that it will come apart. There ARE flexible superglues out there, try googleing it to find it. Just might be a little pricey. Thirdly Dap will NOT work with urethane.Tried it and it does NOT bond the stuff.
Good luck
