Choice of undersuit
I've been in an out of here reading stuff so many times this past week, my boss is probably going to kill me. Very addictive!
I'm trying to get a solid idea of how many people go with 2 piece under armour style outfits as oppossed to single suit diveskins. Seems like most dive skins are front zipper which is problematic. Are actual wetsuits (e.g. neoprene suits) used more than under armour or skins?
Also, for those using two pieces, do you cut any access points into the back, or simply pull it over your head in the 'normal' way?
Trying to plan things out before making purchases and getting started.

Re: Choice of undersuit
Ive never worn the two piece but use a .05mm wetsuit that does me well.

Re: Choice of undersuit
I'm going the 2-piece Under Armour route. I added a zipper up the back of the shirt for ease of entry (will make dressing the mannequin easier as well).
This part is still in progress, though, so it will be a little while yet before I know how it turns out...

Re: Choice of undersuit
Depends on the suit your trying to make. My 89 and begins I went one piece. For the 89, returns and probably the TDK one piece is probably best. For any other suit two piece is the way to go. Keith Billanti makes great two piece suits.
Spandexman.com is where I have gone for my one piece undersuits.

Re: Choice of undersuit
I'll check that location. I think I'd prefer a 1 piece.

Re: Choice of undersuit
thanks drft :)
It depends what suit your trying to do and how "bad a$$" you want to be.
we can make one or two piece suits in Neoprene as well as mesh TDK suits in an "economy" mesh and the screen accurate mesh.
PM for details.

Re: Choice of undersuit
Also consider where you live and the temp. Here with 110+ summers in AZ I go with the two piece under armour because a wetsuit will not fly in this weather.

Re: Choice of undersuit
That's a good point. I'm in between NY and Philadelphia so the summer gets hot (especially this year) and the winter gets cold, but the extremes are not as bad as other places. My only thought on the benefit of a 2 piece is that, if I screw up on either section, the whole thing won't be scrap. Positive thinking, huh? :lol
