I saw a tutorial over at the cave in which someone used Krylon H20 latex spray paint to seal the foamies, then covered in plasti-dip. Also saw a tutorial using a glue/water mixture to seal the foamies. I may try both of these options while I continue to search for a compressor. I hope to start cutting and trimming thie weekend so I'll post updates. http://www.entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html http://bthecave.runboard.com/t124nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ibnzbass4)Thu, 09 Sep 2010 07:44:19 +0000 Re: Latex application tutorials?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212394,from=rss#post2212394https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212394,from=rss#post2212394Not to often. Just whenever it gets clogged, it mostly gets clogged at the tip so you just wipe it off. nondisclosed_email@example.com (ChrisRobin1)Thu, 09 Sep 2010 03:13:04 +0000 Re: Latex application tutorials?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212316,from=rss#post2212316https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212316,from=rss#post2212316Do you have to clean the sprayer often as you work, or can you give the armor 1 full coat and then clean it?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ibnzbass4)Wed, 08 Sep 2010 10:25:33 +0000 Re: Latex application tutorials?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212315,from=rss#post2212315https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212315,from=rss#post2212315Hey man, Go to Liquid latex dot com and get a little latex when you get it and the gun and the compressor, thin it with water. use about a 3 to 1 ratio (3)Water/Latex(1) When you spray it it should be like a mist, if it doesn't spray at all or is like a stream or splotchy it's way to thick and just add more water until it becomes a mist. hope this helps, I just didn't have the time to post a full tutorial with pics. :up nondisclosed_email@example.com (ChrisRobin1)Wed, 08 Sep 2010 10:09:02 +0000 Latex application tutorials?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212313,from=rss#post2212313https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2212313,from=rss#post2212313I have been searching the archives, but could not locate a good tutorial on using latex. I was planning to use plasti-dip over foamies, but read a lot of mixed reviews on that process (wrinkling vs. not wrinkling, etc.) Anyway, can anybody point me to a good tutorial on the basics of spraying latex. You guys pointed out a good sprayer, but being unfamiliar with this stuff, step by step directions couldn't hurt. If I can find a cheap compressor (or even borrow one) I'd like to try using latex over foamies. OK, I'll shut up and stop putting up new posts today.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ibnzbass4)Wed, 08 Sep 2010 09:37:44 +0000
