How is it different from the others you've seen? They're pretty much all taken from the same original master. Could be one of mine but it could also be just about anyone's (that has a mold for the thing). It does look like it's been painted, I've never painted them. Mine are cast in color. Someone might have painted one they got from me though (or just about anyone else for that matter).
Where did it come from?

Ed,
it appears glossier than what I'm used to seeing. So the only difference might only be the finish. The ones I've owned didn't have this look. I was also told that this is a Janty emblem.

I had one of his Returns emblems, and the yellow was quite glossy. So yours could very well be.

I think he was the only one who did that to his emblems. If you were told it's his, it probably is.

Mhhhhhhh but when I remember correctly Janty always filled in the yellow resin after he made the emblem in all black. So all Janty emblems I have had about the last years the yellow was filled complete arround the black bat that it was all one.

Guido is right, Janty poured the yellow in from the front which took some of the "crispness" away. That doesn't look like one if his to me.
