Mounting Foam Latex Begins 9 Piece Legs and Extra parts guide.

Hello everyone, today I got delivered my latest collection. A Bob D Foam Latex Begins suit.

The chest is already mounted beautifully, however this has previously been done.

Now I have never worked with Foam Latex before and I have no guide and NO IDEA on where to begin with the legs on this. No templates, no method, no anything.

As soon as I un-packed i'm straight on here seeking advise.

I'm going to use DAP Contact Cement to glue onto the lower under suit, would you all recommend this?

If someone could point out where each section goes exactly and walk me through all of this I would be immensely grateful.

More than anything, I consider how lucky I am to have gotten a hold of this and how much I want to do it right.

I apologize in advance for the crappy iPhone pics, best I can upload unfortunately. Also for the leg sections being scattered on my bed lol. Wanted to get a shot of all the parts on here then back into the box to be ready for mounting.

Now I realize what are the knee caps, the buttocks and spine, but after that, im guessing really. There is also one section that does not have a pair? That's not the buttocks. I'm also guessing some are the forearm area? Like I said, only the main armor section is mounted, nothing else.

Again I want this to be exact and precise. Not sloppy or half assed.

So yes, lots of help needed please. In guidance, method and execution.

Lets get serious Bro's.

Thank you :)

hey bud, looks like you have some extra leg parts.

just by observation it appears you have an extra quad. and 2 extra hamstrings. not sure what that piece is that's underneath the knee pads in your pic.

the two pieces below the butt are the quads, which go in the front of the leg.

2 pieces below the spine are the hamstrings that go behind the legs.

2 pieces to the left are what go on the outer sides of your legs.

hope that helps, and yes use dap contact cement GEL. that's what i used for my torso. and glue every inch of it to the undersuit.

less learnd for me is to make sure you are standing or in a natural position with your undersuit completely on.

i messed up the front midsection of my torso becasuse i didnt have the bottom strap completely secure and i was laying on a lawnchair so the undersuit had some wrinkles in it when i adhered the suit.

good luck!!

Thanks for that buddy, now that you say that I can see what you mean. Didn't realize I had so many spares!

Do you have any templates for mounting the 9 Parts, or is it more of a refer to Screen used suits and adjust to personal fitting technique?

As for the spare suit part, I have no idea either, any suggestions anyone?

Sorry forget my last post, seems I posted just as you did, thanks so much for all the advice buddy. Fingers crossed, going to attack next week hopefully.

Now for a bigger question!

In regards to foam latex, is there a solution or some kind of coating that can be applied to help deter from rotting?

Once again my knowledge on Foam Latex is so limited, so I know very little about what it is like as a material.

Also, once everything has been glued to the individual under suits, would I be right in saying a full coat or some kind of paint or coating needs to be applied to connect the shades of the under suit and armor pieces?

This method was used on the begins suit no?

Thanks everyone :)

Are you sure? Where abouts on the leg area would that extra piece fit? I can count the 9 sections

2 hamstring
2 quads
2 knee pads
2 side leg
1 buttock

I thought the begins legs only had 9 sections?

The actual suit had 19 visible sections minus the kneecaps..

I can see that Bob didn't cut all the sections into pieces

If the bottom 2 pieces of armor in this pic match that one that was in your pic it is definitely the calve armor :bounce
