Dark Knight Cape Attachment ??

Hi guys,

I wanted to ask how do you attach the cape on a Dark Knight Suit? I've been doing some reading in the archives and there are some fantastic suggestions such as these:

However all of these methods involve a cap clip that sits over the cape. The Dark Knight Suit unlike its predecessors does not have any external clips but looks like it has some kind of fastening that that is attached under the cape material. The carbon fiber clavicle pieces cover over where the cape inserts.

Here's an example:

None of the above tutorials address this newer fastening system. The closest I have read is this discussion: [sign in to see URL] suggesting that the production team may have used snap on buttons, but is this what they actually used in the films and would snap on buttons be strong enough for a heavy cape? Also from the reference photos we can see there seems to be a big hole between these two 'buttons' what is the purpose of this? To hold a magnet? Is it a grommet to feed string/cord or a screw through? I don't know. I'd love to get people's opinions on this to get a definitive answer.

Thanks

The DK scene where he is seated holding his cowl shows a metal piece that holds the cape [sign in to see URL] is it? I don't know.

I took my UDR suit to an S&M leather shop - the kind most major cities have - that makes harnesses, leather body suits, etc. They removed my collar and stitched it back up. The also box pleated my cape and attached industrial snaps on the under side of the cape ends. They then placed the female part of the snaps right above the CF armour/clavicle pieces so when attached, it appears as though it is coming from under those two pieces.

[sign in to see URL] in Dallas did my work and did a great job! Ask for Terry.

I will post pics once I figure out how to here!? :signal

This photo shows what I mean. The clavicle (collar bone) piece only covers the cape it doesn't attach to it. In this photo you can see what appears to be two snap in buttons and a 'hole' in the middle. My question is, what is the hole used for?

I cut the clavicle armor at the top and put Velcro on the inside of the jacket and on the ends of the cape. I put the cape through the top and it secures on the inside. The cape hides where I had to cut it.

There was a thread about this and many other methods in the archives when UD's TDK first came out.
