Re: Reznor9's Batman: Arkham Origins Build
Only had a couple mins tonight to work on it. Added the sliding switch to the opposite side of the gauntlet and a little panel where the bolts will be attached. Threw on a light coat of plastidip. Came out nice. Almost done with the gauntlet. I'm pretty damn happy with the results. So much better and easier to construct than my old ones.

Haven't had any time to work on it but thought I'd throw down some teaser pics of what I had... Enjoy

Where do you get your files from and what is the bicep/arm piece made of and how?

I didn't get my files from anywhere. I'm drawing up my own templates using a pencil and card stock.
Bicep/tricep is made of eva foam. Same as the gauntlets and the rest of the costume.
Traced out then heat shaped. After shaping I used a low setting dremel to carve out a border and give it some definition. Sprayed with 3 coats of gunmetal grey plastidip and then drybrushed with acrylics to add detail and weathering. Last but not least I glued elastic around the pieces to join then and allow me to strap it on my arm.
That arm piece though is part of my old costume, Im planning to make the costume again and may or may not redesign it a bit so there isn't as much dremel sculpting as it is tedious at times.

Re: Reznor9's Batman: Arkham Origins Build
No real progress. Was moving out of my house the past week so was busy with that. What I did manage to do was build a duct tape dummy and throw down some pvc pipe so I can make him stand and display my origins v1 suit with my 2.0 gauntlets. Decided to paint one of them with the weathered look too. Came out okay.

Looks dope. How did you go about making that dummy exactly? Any specific tutorial you follow?

There are several tutorials online and some good ones on you tube as well
It was way easier than I thought it would be. But you do need someone to help you.
STEP 1: collect the materials
1. Duct tape(quantity depends on you and size of the roll purchased) I used about 2 large rolls.
2. Some old clothes to wear; long sleeve shirt/sweat pants (your going to have to cut these off along with the duct tape.
3. Medical/bandage scissors (required to cut through clothes and tape without cutting you) can be purchased at Walmart or Walgreens.
4. Old clothes/newspaper/or anything you can use t stuff the dummy.
5. Someone to help.
STEP 2: put on the old clothes and begin wrapping yourself in duct tape. I started at the ankles. Up the leg, torso then arms.
DO NOT wrap yourself by going around yourself in circles using one long piece of tape. This will eventually get too tight. Just tear the duct tape into large pieces and layer them around but try to keep it form fitting. Don't want it to be baggy. But don't want to cut off circulation.
STEP 3: have your friend cut you out. Make a cut down the legs torso and arms just enough for you to slip out.
You now have a duct tape skin on the floor.
STEP 4: close up the seams using duct tape.
STEP 5: stuff the dummy with whatever you can find. Old clothes, news paper or whatever.
OPTIONAL: purchase a piece of 1" PVC Pipe. It cost me like $2 at lowes for a 10 foot piece. I also bought (2) 90 degree elbows, (2) T-joints. I then cut he pipe and used the elbows to create a skeleton for my legs, hips, spine and shoulders. Put your stuffing around the skeleton and enjoy.

Re: Reznor9's Batman: Arkham Origins Build
Working on a commission I have for a set of gauntlets and decided to update my design further. Making some refinements, smoothing out some of the sharp angles and added a 2 1/2" hand guard to the front. I'm really liking this build, hopefully I can settle on this and push myself to move on. But i hate moving forward when I finish something and get that feeling that it could have been better..
