Returns Cowl Damage HELP

Hi everyone, need some help please.

Below you can one of my Urethane Returns cowl. Ive just dug this out the other day from storage to start a new build. I purchased the cowl a few months ago from eBay and when it arrived I noticed this damage (Which I wasn't told about when I bought the item :grumble ). At the time I didn't get chance to post it on here and fix it but now I do.

The cowl is in pretty decent condition and is a nice pull (A little thin in areas but for the price I got it for, I can't complain too much).

It seems there is some form of a change in the pull of some kind as you can see by the photos. It is not sticky or anything and all it actually does is add a visual deterrent to the cowl.

Im not quite sure on what to do next? Im wondering whether a Plast dip may help but I live in the UK so I don't want to buy one from the states only for it not to work.

Im hoping you guys on here will be able to lend a helping hand in telling me what I can do next, if anything, to try and fix this :)

Many thanks in advance,

Josh

I'm pretty sure that Plasti-Dip will not stick to the urethane.

Was gonna say too that Plastidip will not work. I am also in UK and found you can get Plasti on Ebay.co.uk. Works out about £15 per can though. Just in case you need it in the future :up

I would try thoroughly cleaning it to see if it looks better. You could also LIGHTLY paint it with urethane bumper paint. A few light coats followed by a wipe down with a terry cloth should help.

Hey Josh,

that´s a cowl or pull from PJwares as I have had exactly the same problems with an identical cowl that I got 2 weeks ago from him.
I returned that cowl imidiatly and waiting now for a thicker cowl that would not have the thin nose and eye areas. But the scratches on the ear tips will be still there as he told me that the mold is damaged at the inside and that makes the problems with the ear tips.

If you would find a good way to resolve these ear problem than please let me know as the friend of mine were I ordered this cowl for also has to go that route when the new cowl would arrive.

Re: Returns Cowl Damage HELP

The reason is very simple as getting a cowl from the UK is much more easyer for me in Germany as ordering one from the USA.
Oh and BTW I also did not know anything about this damages before I got the first cowl.
