Plans For Halloween

Any plans for Halloween. Who would you choose to dress? Batman or The Joker?

Unfortunately I got trumped this year and we are doing an Alice in wonderland family costume set. I will be the White Rabbit. my g/f is going to be the Mad Hatter and our girls will be the Red Queen and Alice. We're going to a trunk or treat and our trunk will be the tea party. if I had my choice though I'd def be Batman

Continuing the theme from last year, we will be doing Star Wars again. This time, my almost 3 year old daughter has been added to the mix. She has been begging me for a Star Wars costume! Go figure. So, as we get ready for the Force Awakens, we will be going old school.

My 6 year old son is really into Futurama right now. He wants to be Bender, so I need to figure out a way to make him.

I asked him who he wants me to be, and he suggested the Number 9 Man. I think that is brilliant.

Re: Plans For Halloween

Halloween's been pretty much dead here for about 6 or so years. I used to "suit up" to hand out candy for the kids but for about 6 or 8 years running now I only get 3 or 4 kids max and I no longer bother dressing up for it. Maybe there'll be more of a turn out this year since it falls on a Saturday but probably it will be even less. I think basically parents have become overprotective and don't let their kids go door to door anymore. It's kind of a shame. One of my fondest memories is taking my kids out to trick or treat around the neighborhood.

That's a shame. In this area, Halloween has really had a resurgence over the past 5 years and the streets are flooded with trick or treaters. We make it a family affair and have fun together like when we were kids. I'm sorry that is not the case near you Ed. Recent history in your neck of the woods a contributing factor?

Halloween is pretty big in my town, but not in my dead end street. I get about 20 kids tops.
I usually throw an adults only costume party, where past few years I dress up as a Batman related character. Gonna be Scarecrow this year. Ed, come on over!
