Painting DOJ belt
I want to repaint my DOJ belt. I was told it was painted with Rustoleum Gold. I think black then the gold over it. Should I just do more gold or try a lighter color? Any suggestions on colors or brands of paint?

Re: Painting DOJ belt
Wish I could help, I dunno what it's supposed to look like. I always liked Automotive Duplicolor touch up paint on resin though.

Re: Painting DOJ belt
Think the belt in the film is more of a bronze color with some weathering.

Re: Painting DOJ belt
After looking at the real deal ref pics, I noticed the buckle was brighter then the rest of the belt. My belt was opposite of that so I lightened it up a bit doing some dry brushing.
Worse lighting but you can see the slight change....

Re: Painting DOJ belt
Tony,
I will post pictures of the two GOLD spray paints I am currently using. I use automotive spray paint grey primer first. Sand an smooth off any errors, then one of my two gold paints, one of which is a metallic gold.
After a few hours drying in the summer, or two days drying at room temp in winter I then use matt black boot polish to dab on and rub off with kitchen towel or newspaper to bring out the details.
I did use Cosplay Chris's youtube tutorials for a basic idea for painting the DOJ Belt buddy.
