Did anyone see the series when it first aired?

Did any of you board members see the 1966 Batman series when it first aired? I have to confess I saw it for the first time the night it premiered on 12 January 1966. I was 6½ years old that night. Thirty-six years later, reruns of the show led me to my heightened interest in the Caped Crusader, and especially the Feline Fatale. I know so many of you weren't around back in 1966, but was wondering if there ARE those who were. I look forward to hearing from you!

Well I was 3 when it first aired but I do recall watching it as early as when I was 5 or 6 so I suspect I saw it earlier. I remember wearing my Ben Cooper Batman costume to school as a very young kid (so my Dad was not surprised when I became batman for real as an adult :wink )

Wow, you guys are OLD! I was only 2 when it first came out...
My first memory of the show was when I was 5 or so due to syndication. I was hooked immediately -- and still am. I, too, had the Ben Cooper Halloween costume. Can't remember what year, however.

If you're like me (and I suspect you are) it was kindergarten or 1st grade when you had that costume. We probably had the same one, LOL.

Yes! I wish I still had it.
One of my friends had a cloth cowl and cape combo, but his mother probably made it for him. Lucky!
The Batman is one of the better Ben Coopers. A lot of them just had a picture of the character on the chest instead of trying to emulate a costume. As a kid, I also had a Fonzie and instead of making it look like you were wearing a leather jacket and T-shirt, Fonzie's face was on your chest. Weird.

I'm pretty sure I also had a cloth cape and cowl on one costume as well but had forgotten about that. That was more of a play set though than a Halloween costume. As I recall my brother had a Superman too. Fun times. :up
