Arkham Origins Build from scratch - BeyondtheBat Well time has allowed me to begin on this.
This is my first suit Ill be building and doing all by myself (Besides cowl)
Tutorial from a new foam user like myself
Step one: I measured my chest and different dimensions to get a rough estimate on about what size they need to be. I then pulled up some reference images on google and free handed them on paper.
Step two: From there I got me some cardboard for all you foam users you know where I'm going with this. However I'm extremely new to crafting with this. I simply cut out my templates I had on regular paper and I taped them down to the cardboard where I would then cut them out of the cardboard. Also you'll only need one template for each piece For example (You dont need a left ab and right ab all you would need to do is flip it over do this so your sizes stay the same) I did this so I could have myself a permanent template for my body incase I had to redo a certain section. Plus if I do it again its a huge time save!
Step three: Oh boy foam! Yeah EVA foam many Bats already know this. Yes those mats you see in exercise places :rollin
For me personally Ill be using the soft side for the look I'm going for. From there I took my template and just traced onto the foam the used a razorblade/box cutter to cut it out. However you could also use a hot knife or xacto knife with this. Whatever you're comfortable with.
After you get all your shapes cut out you'll wanna do some trimming cutting the edges at an angle then sanding them down will give you a great look.
I'll add more as I progress with pics!
Also sometimes you'll find more than sticky merchandise at Goodwill! These boots will do. :batman
