That is a photo of the original prop, used in the movie. You may contact the propmaker, maybe he will help you to create a replica, he may remember the materials used or other details: PETER LEE PROPS AND CREATIONS LIMITED, 19 Central Way, Cranbourne Hall Park, Winkfield, Windsor, Berkshire, United Kingdom, SL4 4UB. He is a great guy and friendly. I posted the photo here as a reference for builders who want to create a replica.
