66 Batman build

OK so quite recently I managed to get my hands on one of the matty collector cowls for a great price.

I know they are not the most acurate 66 cowls but I still like it and with me having a large mellon it actualy fits very well. I know they can be modded to look more acurate but as I only have the one I would rather leave it in an original state. If I ever managed to get another one at a great price then I would have a go at modding that one.

But after getting this I have toyed with putting together a full suit. Such fond childhood memories of the TV show (70s re runs)

Soooooo......

I made the belt. emoticon

I know the design changes over the course of the three season and the film design is also slightly different. so I picked this style to try and copy.

First I order some cut to size brass blanks

Then I engraved the design on by hand, rounded the corners and gently buffed it up.

I made the cylinders out of wood dowl and the pouches from Yellow leatherette and hard board. Most of the screen used pouches were solid and did not open, I made my pouches a little deeper as I wanted to be able to open them. (Not that you can fit much in them emoticon )

I then spray the cylinders yellow, painted the pouch buttons yellow and attached then all to a leatherette belt I made.

Think it looks the part, now just the rest of the suit to do. emoticon
It will prob be a bit of a slow build but I do plan on finishing this.

Thank you Cluey for posting all the progress photos, this is a great belt,so much craftmanship and dedication to detail! You did a great job, it looks fantastic! The utility belt was always one of my favorite gadgets of Batman, the most loved is the Batarang. Will you buy one or do you make your own?

That stuff looks great Cluey. Thanks for sharing it.
I had a "high end" cowl on my own 60's suit but the one I got from Walmart (same one you showed) actually looks better because the fabric is more "satiny" that my High end cowl.

Thanks.Yeah I thought the fabric looked quite close too. I need to find a good fabric match next so I can have a go at making the cape, gloves and briefs
