NygmaTech - the unintentional foresight of Batman Forever
I just want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate an easily overlooked aspect of Batman Forever. This just occurred to me the other day.
"Credit Cards, Bank Codes, Sexual Fantasies, and Little White Lies! into my head they'll go..."
The Riddler's business invention, The Box, is a near-perfect metaphor for our current state of affairs with the Internet of Things, streaming TV, and unscrupulous corporations/governments stealing our data quite literally from our own brains.
And that was in 1995! Kinda blows my mind just how prescient that was. Not unlike the small handful of predictions Back to the Future II made about 2015 that came true.
