Re: fixing a brand new suit arrived, any tips or advices ;) ?

Really like thoses bases and clearly what i can do :) ! If you have a FB page i could show you my painting skills for diorama :) and GB props. For the foam polyuréthane do you have a link of the specific product i need to buy on their site as i get lost with all the products. I LL start fixing torso first. LL also check with jester if hé can at last pay for it. Also is there any good place to find Keaton face plate ?

Best is to check some videos from Smoot-On on YouTube so you know what product is working for you. I use products from a company in Switzerland but they are different. Smooth-On has a great reputation in the special effects scene. I recommend a product with a long pot-time, and reasonable expansion. You have to work fast and brush it on the surface you want to have filled so that there is not a spot with lots of the material because it will expand. Best is to try out the product some times and also have it tinted black if needed. My favorite is the Flexfoam-it 14.Below is the link to the foams:

Ok, I'm gonna come right out and say this. If your paypal transaction is still open I suggest that you immediately process a dispute. That suit is absolute garbage. I'm guessing I know who the maker is and he is shunned by many of the facebook groups for various infringements. I wish you could have had contact with me before making this purchase because I have a latex suit (fully assembled and ready to wear) from a reputable maker (I glued it up in 2003 and haven't worn it since 2004, it's on display) I would have seriously considered selling it to you for about the same $$. I'll say this also, that belt is a re-cast from a belt I used to offer here at the BOTB. I still have my original mold, just stopped making them when people started re-casting them and selling them for less that I used to get. I didn't see the point in bothering. All of that said, yes, get your money back from Paypal if you can. You sadly got royally screwed here (which sadly happens a-lot in this hobby).

Re: fixing a brand new suit arrived, any tips or advices ;) ?

hello there thanks for your reply. That s suit is jester fx suit, i d'ont care about giving his name as im on a paypal claim since 2 weeks now and he is a nightmare... Basically am at 2200 usd plus 300 customs (he agreed to be be custom friendly when i ordered and say i m lying now). so if i send the suit back i m sitting on the custom i paid and also pay another 200 euros for shipping. Also he asked me to send back to fix the bad parts, problem basicaly 3/4 of the suit, means i ll pay shipping, shipping back and perhaps more customs tax, so i refused... i asked him to ship material to fix by myself he refused... paypal ask me to find an expert, i found a company that might sell material to me and they asked 450 euros in material. Proof provided to paypal for a partial refund, jester also refused that solution. He sent me an email under pressure asking me to close the case, that the suit is perfectly fine and that i m a liar...I asked him why i had so much troubles showing pictures...He replied that i damaged myself the suit in order to open a claim... I m in the props since 15 years and never saw saw before...That s guy is mental litteraly and can be rude too... Last message was i would loose everything if i m sending it back (shipping and customs), i should close the case...Reporting the case again to paypal, in my position i would just keep that stuff and fix it slowly by myself, as i already lost money :((( ... torso need reinfrcement, gloves and boots directly to the bin, and need to fix all the other mistakes... i m disgusted by the guy. i know sometimes **** happen but seller at last provide solutions. This guy has been an ass with me, and if it continues it ll be hard to stay honest with him as he is really unfair. Just crossing finger with paypal now, but i ll have to buy products anyway to fix and buy new parts for that suit... hard thread for me for the first one !

I'm not at all surprised by this revelation. He's actually one of the very few people who are banned from this site.

Regarding the bases that Red mentioned I happen to have a fiberglass man cover from Begins available if you're interested. It's still in the original cast color of orange (I don't know why the guys I got it from cast it in orange). It needs to be painted obviously. I was told at the time buy the guys I got it from that they weren't planning to offer them widely and if I wanted I was free to copy mold it. I never bothered so I only have the one, original copy. It's cast from a screen production piece (full size).

Re: fixing a brand new suit arrived, any tips or advices ;) ?

Thank you for your answers and help guys! For now I think the next few months ll be on fixing suit and ordering replacements parts for the returns suit sadly...
Need to check budget and order slowly on material to fix and also buying new boots and returns gloves.
Sadly i got the bad news from paypal today (ll close my paypal account certainly).

I ordered a complete suit in June 2020. During 6 months it has been a nightmare on progress and updates. Firstly on the 15 of July he told me he was nearly done and should ship a week after...after that it has been excuses after excuses ( the poor guy was sick, didn t have material etc) after 6 months I mentioned to opening a claim. Quickly in November I received a big package where everything was just throw inside the package without any protection of any kind. Quality was just crap, torso is thin, you can see the light behind the part and if you push too much with the finger it will get a hole.
The gloves missed some sewing and had been already damaged, mask got holes and bubbles, boots have glue-marks everywhere...I contacted Jester who asked me to send back parts to fix even if he didn"t see any problem on the order... I asked for a partial refund to buy material to fix or at last send me the material to fix by myself...the guy has refused everything...I opened a paypal claim 3 times asking for a partial refund, but because it s an hand made item, paypal didn't help much (closing my account as we speak)... Jester complained on his official page because i was a bad customer, when I started to paste pictures of the problem strangely I ve been banned from his group... every single contact with him has been a pain since, He always got excuses, and it s never his fault !!! Always buyer fault... Also when i asked him what he thought about pictures, i provided about the suit, he just replied that I damaged the suit myself to be able to open a claim! I have been in props since 15 years, and never experienced a behavior like this before....
Not here to look for drama but be aware of that guys and his shitty quality product Don't waste your money really.

Should haves checked his name on google and facebook before ordering, but not spreading the word that people doesnt make the same mistake !"

I will continue to post here to show progress and ask for advice....Thank you for you comments.
With your support I feel less alone in that unpleasant situation.

This is all very unfortunate. Like I said, he's been banned here (and from most costume sites) for a long while. He's a re-caster and a poor one at that. Sadly your story isn't new to this hobby. There have been many who look at this hobby as a quick payday. Same scenario over and over. They hold your money and "maybe" ship garbage just about when you can't put in a claim then by the time you get your good (crap as they are) it's too late to get any kind of refund. Been on your side of this from "friends" several times myself.
Best of luck with your repairs.
